Artificial Intelligence has become a familiar buzzword, synonymous for improving every part of our lives, but what does it really mean for submarine design and what tangible benefits can be realised today? Using case studies this talk explores the opportunities and limitations of AI in submarine design to explore where it can be used and where the human designer is needed for the foreseeable future. By working in collaboration these new tools can be used to explore the solution space more effectively and save time on specific challenges within the design space.
