The Wargaming showcase

UDT 2025 demonstrates the immense importance of undersea systems and how the defence sector is rising to the challenge of future large-scale combat operations.  In this environment, the proliferation of cutting-edge C2, battlespace management, and automation technologies demands equal advances in dynamic, cross-domain, integration.  But where do undersea systems and platforms fit within this paradigm?

Digital wargaming and simulation tools present the perfect solution for research, experimentation, testing, and education within the burgeoning field of multi-domain operations.  Just how undersea systems and platforms will work alongside surface, land, air, space (and even cyber) assets can be explored across thousands of simulated battles at minimal marginal cost.

Our DualTech theatre showcase is offered as a primer for anybody wishing to get up to date on modern (and future) simulation capabilities, and how they help wrangle the complexities of the multi-domain battlespace.

As Western militaries adapt to new ‘multi-domain’ doctrines, and the intensifying demands of great-power competition, our wargaming showcase will examine the theme of integration, as applied to undersea systems and platforms.  How can submarines, UUVs, sensors, and weapons better coordinate with surface and aviation assets to dominate the oceanic and littoral battlespace?

This year we are partnering with Matrix Pro Sims and Fight Club International to showcase undersea defence technology in a multi-domain context via demonstrations and gaming activities with cutting-edge simulation tools.

Fight Club International

Gaming and simulation activities will be occurring throughout the day, broken into two sessions:

This session will involve live, interactive, and informal demonstrations of the cross-domain wargaming simulation ‘Command: Professional Edition’, and the upcoming naval warfare simulation ‘Modern Naval Warfare’.  Visit us to learn more about how ‘Command: PE’ details and integrates underwater systems into a modern-day (or near future) multi-domain operational environment. For anybody more interested in highly detailed simulations of undersea systems (and/or complex platforms), the ‘Modern Naval Warfare’ demonstration will provide a first-look at this authentic and accessible software tool.

Our ‘undersea defence in a multi-domain context’ theme culminates in the afternoon session with our headline wargaming event.  Eight conference attendees will go head-to head in a 4v4 naval planning and execution exercise within ‘Command: Professional Edition’s’ new real-time multiplayer feature.  Teams must deploy and coordinate a range of surface, undersea, and airborne assets in order to achieve their objectives and secure victory.  Commentary and insights from subject matter experts will also be provided, and conference attendees are invited to spectate.

Take part

We are seeking a range of participants to engage with these activities over the course of the day.  Conference attendees are warmly invited to stop by the Dual Tech Theatre during the morning session and receive an informal product demonstration of Command: Professional Edition and/or Modern Naval Warfare.

We aim to populate the afternoon wargaming teams with a diverse mix of people from a range of age groups and professional backgrounds.  Both teams will be directly supported by their own ‘Game Controller’, so subject matter experience is not essential, nor is prior experience with Command: Professional Edition. The gaming event will last 90-minutes.

Join us for an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge simulation technology, contribute to strategic discussions, and help shape the future of digital wargaming.
