Mr. Sassler has a long history developing acoustic systems for submarines and UUVs. He had lead roles on the US Navy's WLY-1 system developed for the Virginia Class Submarines prior to becoming the lead systems engineer on AIS sonars for Sweden's Gotland Class submarines and the Netherland's Walrus Class submarines. More recently, Mr. Sassler developed a marine mammal inspired impulsive source for detecting buried objects in complex maritime environments.
