Chris is a Chartered Ergonomist and Human Factors specialist with over twenty years' experience in Defence, working across acquisition, integration and assurance of complex maritime systems. Based in Australia, he leads Human Systems Integration and decision support work that bridges engineering and operational domains. Chris' recent projects span conventional and autonomous vessels, focusing on how multidisciplinary teams make and defend critical design decisions. A BMT Fellow, he is particularly interested in how communication and clarity of intent shape capability outcomes—an idea explored in this paper.
