Iain Shepherd has worked in the maritime sector for some 50 years, a former Royal Navy Officer & Trial Director at AUTEC. Since leaving the service, he has worked in Shipbuilding, Subsea Operations, Equipment Manufacture and Ocean Sciences. A UK member of ISO/TC43/SC3, ISO/IEC JTC1/SC41 and ISO/IEC JWG32. He is actively involved in research to understand the impact of anthropogenic noise on marine life and has participated in a number of Horizon Projects working closely with the EC on "Dual Use” Strategies. He is currently working on both the Internet of Underwater Things and the Internet of Maritime Things.
