Nils Haga is a highly experienced innovation and business development leader with a strong background in startups, technology commercialization, and strategic growth initiatives. Currently serving as the ESA Ambassador Norway and ESA BIC Norway Contract Manager at Kjeller Innovasjon, Nils Haga plays a key role in supporting deeptech-driven startups, particularly in the space, defense, and maritime sectors.

With over 20 years of experience spanning venture development, R&D commercialization, and strategic consulting, Haga has worked across industries such as AI, defense, energy, aquaculture, and advanced sensor technology. Their expertise includes guiding Norwegian SMEs with global ambitions, securing funding, and facilitating private investments.

Previously, Haga held leadership roles at Nofima (aquaculture R&D), at ABB, leading subsea systems (ROVs, intervention tools, control systems, marine operations) and at Aker Solutions (subsea engineering and umbilical projects).

Holding an MBA from SDA Bocconi and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with AI specialization from NTNU, Haga combines technical acumen with business strategy. Passionate about driving innovation at the intersection of space, defense, and maritime technology, they are an advocate for bringing R&D results to market and fostering collaboration between industry and startups.
