Associate Professor Per Haavardtun is employed with the University of Southeastern Norway institute of Maritime Operations. He has wide experience in the maritime industry working as a seafarer, port captain and consultancies with port and ship security. He main research is with the research group of Maritime Logistic, focusing on how the transportation will be affected due to digitalisation, automatization of tasks and units in the transportation chain including steps towards autonomy. He is also into research on simulation based teaching and training if new technologies can enhance the competence students and course attendees will have after completed the training.
