Mr Pete Lambeth FIMarEST, CEng, CMgr, MSc
With over 28 years’ experience across the Defence, Civil Nuclear, and Oil & Gas sectors, I have worked at the intersection of engineering management, governance, assurance, and technical delivery within some of the UK’s most complex and safety-critical programmes. My career started as a SONAR operator on Submarines, then moving into weapon system engineering before moving into Oil and Gas undertaking roles in Electrical Engineering, and Maintenance Compliance at Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station. Additional roles include Global Operations Manager for nucleonic instrumentation, and consulting on various Submarine and Nuclear Infrastructure programmes and projects.
I am currently Capability Director at Engage Technical Solutions, an employee-owned Defence consultancy. In this role, I lead the development of our core service pillars: engineering, project and programme management, and digital services, ensuring our teams deliver assured, technically robust outcomes for government and industry clients. I also provide technical leadership on Submarine SONAR, Torpedoes, and Infra-based client programmes.
A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), I am also undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration. My research explores the factors influencing the growth and resilience of employee-owned Defence consultancies, with a focus on innovation, leadership, and sustainable business models.
Alongside my professional work, I remain active in the sector through voluntary and charitable commitments with the Royal British Legion and IMarEST, supporting professional development, mentoring, and veteran engagement. I am passionate about knowledge sharing, organisational learning, and strengthening the UK’s engineering capability across Defence and other regulated industries.
