Dr. Thomas John Julien Meyer has a multidisciplinary and multicultural educational background. He first earned a degree in Chemistry in France before pursuing a Master’s and PhD in Physics in the UK. To complement his technical expertise with business acumen, he also completed an Executive MBA in the USA. Dr. Meyer has held academic positions, including Senior Researcher at NORCE and Associate Professor at the University of Agder in Norway. In 2017, he transitioned from academia to entrepreneurship, founding a company focused on advanced vibration sensors and condition-based maintenance. Building on this experience, he entered the subsea sector and now drives innovation at Unplugged, pioneering inductive subsea docking stations for offshore industries. Beyond his daily work, Dr. Meyer serves as an external expert for the European Commission, evaluating programs such as Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and Eureka. He is also a board member of NewTech, a company integrating solar PV and thermal technology solutions.
