Enabling wide mission capability for XLUUV through the development of next generation sonar
- XLUUV will be a highly capable ASW and Seabed Warfare platform when commensurate next generation sonar is available
- Realising many sonar functions with a single set of arrays makes such a system cost viable, and operationally attractive i.e. a single mission could in theory apply all the sonar use cases described
- Realising the sonar performance goals is technically challenging, operational concepts will develop alongside technology innovation
