Mr Mike Robinson
Mike Robinson is the Director of Submarine Support Engineering in Babcock Naval Nuclear, supporting the Submarine Delivery Agency and the Babcock waterfronts at Clyde and Devonport to deliver submarines that are safe, available and capable. His team undertakes submarine engineering analysis and technical issue resolution, configuration and submarine design change management, and then assists in the derivation of the submarine maintenance programme and the scope of the individual submarine maintenance projects within it. He is also responsible for the secure digital enablement of the work and for Babcock’s input to the Dreadnought Class support readiness and the design for supportability of SSNA.
Mike joined Babcock in January 2021 after serving 33 years in the Royal Navy, including three appointments at sea on Trafalgar Class submarines as a Marine Engineer Submariner Officer. He concluded his service as a Commodore, first as the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator, and then for over five years as the Head of In-Service Submarines, responsible for the material safety, availability and capability of all Royal Navy operational submarines; their decommissioning, defuel and disposal post service, and the nuclear support infrastructure developments in Devonport.
