Ms Sophia Blix
Sophia Blix commenced as Minister Counsellor AUKUS in the UK in January 2025, working on behalf of the Australian Submarine Agency. Sophia has worked on AUKUS since it was announced in 2021, with prior roles focusing on policy, security and stewardship issues.
Since joining the Australian Public Service in 2011, Sophia has held a range of roles across the Australian Department of Defence and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, including as the Assistant Secretary, Australian Public Service Reform at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Assistant Secretary, Enterprise Reform at the Department of Defence. Sophia has also previously been the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defence and was deployed to the Middle East as a policy advisor in 2015.
Prior to joining the Public Service, Sophia worked as a commercial lawyer in Sydney, Australia.
